The Boehnke Lab is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment in which every lab member can feel empowered to reach their full potential. We strive to create an environment in which everyone’s voices are heard. We place value in each and everyone’s unique perspectives, shaped by their own experiences, identity, and background. In valuing diversity, we achieve excellence.

We also recognize that we work best together as a team. We seek to help one another overcome obstacles, both in the lab and the classroom. By combining and considering multiple viewpoints, we gain a more complete picture of the problem we are trying to solve. This ultimately allows every lab member to grow into a better and more effective scientist.

We understand that systemic racism and biases have created disparities across science and engineering. As a lab, we continue to challenge these inequities by fostering open discussions, creating a safe and inclusive environment, and educating ourselves on our own biases as well as inequities across science and engineering.
